The United Print Media Group (UPMG) is holding its third Print Media Congress on October 21-22 at the historic Manila Hotel. Dubbed also as PrintCon 2015, the largest gathering of publications and its stakeholders to discuss how we can reach out this generation. will have as its theme “Millennials can love Print too!”. UPMG headed by its president Ricky Alegre of BusinessMirror is an association comprised of various publication companies in the country with more 200 newspaper, magazine and tabloid titles. According to the congress chairman, UPMG VP Barbie Atienza of Manila Bulletin said the congress is an opportunity for members of the industry and its allied sectors to get together and discuss issues that are relevant to the industry’s role in society and in nation building.
The PrintCon 2015 will have leaders from different advertising agencies and publications speak to the plenary. Also present to share insights and views of millennials are those who are presently 18 to 35 years old. The two day congress will be capped by a talk by Comelec commissioner Andres Bautista about the role of the youth in the affairs of the country particularly in the coming elections.
At the end of the congress, the UPMG will also have its awards night for the 5th Tinta Awards. Tinta is the prestigious creative award given by the group to outstanding print advertisements and campaigns. The PrintCon 2015 and Tinta awards are also presented by Manila Bulletin, Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer and Arthaland.
